With experience at Stanford Online, Berkeley Precollege, and Contra Costa College, Reed has cultivated his philosophical skills, specializing in ethics and epistemology. He also enjoys exploring disciplines including computer science, engineering, history, and English.

Sam Cao is a senior at Miramonte High School and an incoming student at Johns Hopkins University with a deep interest in philosophy, economics, and history. His essays have earned recognition from the John Locke Institute, Harvard Economics Association, and Marshall Society. Sam has contributed to multiple academic journals as an editor,

Sam has contributed to multiple academic journals as an editor, including Questions and the Journal of Research High School. Outside the classroom, he enjoys teaching and playing the violin, drawing, photography, and reading.

Alex Lian is a senior at Miramonte High School and an incoming student at Cornell University. He has cultivated a strong passion for political science and philosophy from his bi-cultural background of China and the U.S. He has been an active member on Miramonte’s debate team, participating in more than 20 tournaments in Congress, Extemporaneous, and World Schools debate. He has interned for the U.S. Representatives, assisted research for professors from highly recognized universities, and regularly published blogs on his personal account.
